Scrip Program

You could help Calvary pay its mortgage just by using the scrip program to buy your weekly groceries.  It’s simple.  Buy a gift card for $25, $50, or $100 from the church and use it to pay for your weekly groceries.  Every time you buy a gift card Calvary gets up to 6% of the face value immediately.  All of the stores now use plastic prepaid credit cards that make check out easy. No more paper certificates that were cumbersome to use.  And here’s the best part – if 100 families used these cards every week to purchase $100 of groceries, Calvary would net up to $26,000 per year.  That’s three months worth of mortgage payments paid for by your everyday shopping.  Want more information? NAMI (The National Alliance on Mental Illness) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with mental illness and their families through support, education, and advocacy programs. The NAMI presentation for our Conversations Before The Crisis Series is an example of their outreach concerning education about mental illness. Please support and participate in the NAMI Walks for the Mind of America event at Centennial Park on Saturday, May 3rd. Registration begins at 10:00 and the walk begins at 11:00. Although Calvary is not sponsoring a particular team for this event, information is available in Kimberlin Hall. The next fund-raiser by the youth group will allow everyone a chance to express themselves through scrap booking and digital pictures. Creative Memories offers photo albums made simple, or albums for those who like to provide a personal touch. Creative Memories Consultant, Kim Tatum, will be selling CM products in Kimberlin Hall on April 20, and 27. In addition, everybody will be able to make their own paper album kits on May 4, from 12 - 3 pm. All of the profit will be going to the youth group. For those of you who already have CM products, this is a perfect opportunity to purchase retiring, traditional 12 X 12 products as CM converts its products to its new True 12X12 and 8X8 sizing. Pictures are priceless and the variety of products that CM offers, gives them a lasting effect.
